Northern Brazil holds some of the country’s most unusual landscapes: rainforest and rivers around Manaus, a sea of white dunes filled with rainwater and a calm coastal village without tarmac.

Stage 1
Manaus
Day2
Domestic flight to Manaus
- Change in São Paulo and fly on to Manaus in the heart of the Amazon.
- Transfer to a central hotel close to the Teatro Amazonas opera house.
- Free afternoon – the opera house is within walking distance.
Stage 2
The Amazon
Day3
Meeting of the Waters and on to the lodge
- The transfer is an excursion in itself: speedboat, minibus and boat again, about 3.5 hours in total.
- On the way you pass the Meeting of the Waters, where the black Rio Negro and the brown Solimões run side by side.
- Welcome drink and lunch, then your first boat trip on the river.
Day4
Canoes, piranhas and caimans
- Morning trip by motorised canoe through flooded forest and narrow waterways.
- Piranha fishing after lunch – the guide shows you how.
- Evening outing by torchlight to spot caimans.
Day5
Jungle walk and river village visit
- Guided walk in the rainforest: medicinal plants, tracks and the sounds of the jungle.
- Visit to a caboclo family living by the river.
- Evening free at the lodge.
Stage 3
Manaus
Day6
Sunrise on the river
- Early boat trip at sunrise as the birds wake up.
- After breakfast, return to Manaus.
- Afternoon free in Manaus.

São Luís

Fly to São Luís
- Early transfer and flight to São Luís via Fortaleza.
- Free afternoon among the tiled façades of the old town.

Barreirinhas

To Lençóis Maranhenses
- Minibus to Barreirinhas on the edge of the national park.
- Afternoon by four-wheel drive to Lagoa Bonita – starting with a raft across the river.
- Walk among white dunes and swim in rainwater lagoons (season dependent). Back after sunset.
Day9
Boat day along the Preguiças River
- Full day by boat down towards the Atlantic coast with three stops.
- Capuchin monkeys at Vassouras, small dunes and swimming in the sea, lagoons and river.

Parnaíba

The Parnaíba Delta
- Minibus to Parnaíba.
- Afternoon boat trip in the delta – at sunset thousands of scarlet ibis fly in to roost on their island.

Jericoacoara

Jericoacoara
- Minibus to Jericoacoara, a village of sandy streets by the sea.
- Sunset from the big dune just outside the village.
Day12
Jericoacoara at your own pace
- Beach, wind and a slow pace.
- OptionalBuggy trips to the Pedra Furada rock arch and nearby lagoons can be booked locally.
Day13
Lagoons and kitesurfing
- Free day.
- OptionalKitesurfing lessons or a day trip to the freshwater lagoons with hammocks in the water.
Day14
Last day by the sea
- Free day in Jericoacoara.
- Evening with forró and caipirinhas on the square.
Day15
Flight home from Fortaleza
- A last morning on the coast, then a drive to Fortaleza airport.
- Evening flight to Europe with one connection.

Back home in Scandinavia
- Change planes in Europe and arrive back in Scandinavia during the day.

Booking and payment
- Proposal: You receive a written proposal with price, itinerary and terms. The booking becomes binding only when you have accepted the proposal and we have sent a booking confirmation.
- Payment: Deposit and final payment are stated in the proposal and the confirmation.
- Details: Names must match your passport exactly. Please check the confirmation carefully.
Cancellation and changes
- Cancellation rules and any fees are stated in the proposal and booking confirmation. Flights and some hotels may have their own conditions.
- Changes you request may incur costs from airlines, hotels and other suppliers.
Passports, visas and health
- You are responsible for a valid passport, any visas and the vaccinations required or recommended for the trip, e.g. yellow fever for some areas.
Travel insurance and travel guarantee
We recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover. Details of the travel guarantee lodged with the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet): [to be added].
Changes to the itinerary
If we have to change the itinerary significantly, e.g. because of weather, flight times or decisions by authorities, we will inform you as soon as possible and you have the rights that follow from the Package Travel Act.
Complaints and disputes
Problems during the trip should be reported as soon as possible to us or our local representative. Disputes may be tried by the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or a general court in Sweden. Swedish law applies.
