ABOUT BRAZIL
Brazil is almost nineteen times the size of Sweden. Rainforest, wetlands, waterfalls, colonial towns and thousands of kilometres of coast all fit in one country – which is why we plan every trip around your time, the season and what you want to experience.

GOOD TO KNOW
Swedish and most other EU citizens currently need no visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for the whole trip. Always check the current rules with the Brazilian embassy before you travel.
Rio and the coast are warm all year; December–March is hottest and most humid. The Pantanal is best in the dry season May–October, the Lençóis lagoons are full June–September and the Amazon can be visited all year.
The currency is the Brazilian real (BRL, R$). Cards work almost everywhere in the cities; carry a little cash for markets and tips. Restaurants often add a 10% service charge.
Portuguese is spoken throughout the country. English works at hotels and on excursions, but an obrigado (thank you) and bom dia (good morning) always earn a smile.
Talk to a travel clinic in good time. Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for areas including the Amazon and the Pantanal. Protect yourself against mosquitoes and drink bottled water.
Travel as in other big cities: keep valuables out of sight, use the hotel’s or an app taxi and follow your guide’s advice. Read your government’s current travel advice before you go.
Rio and São Paulo are four hours behind Swedish winter time and five hours behind summer time. The journey takes around 15–17 hours including one connection in Europe.
