A trip for anyone who wants to see many species: the mountain forest of Itatiaia, the coastal forest near Paraty, the wetlands of the Pantanal and the cerrado of the Chapada plateau. October is a good month.

Up into the mountains to Itatiaia
- Arrive in Rio and drive about three hours to Brazil’s oldest national park.
- Feeders at the lodge – hummingbirds and tanagers on the first evening.
Day3
Birds of the Atlantic Forest
- Full day with a guide in the Atlantic rainforest, home to many endemic species.
Day4
Higher up in the park
- Outings at higher altitude towards the grasslands below Agulhas Negras.

Colonial Paraty
- Drive down to the coast and Paraty.
- Birding on the way and an evening among cobbled streets.

Along the coast to Rio
- Morning birding in the coastal forest, then on to Rio de Janeiro.

Fly to the Pantanal
- Fly to Cuiabá and drive onto the Transpantaneira.
- Two nights at the first lodge.

- Herons, storks, ibis and hyacinth macaws – the Pantanal has hundreds of species.

The second lodge
- On south along the road to the next lodge.
- Boat trip in the afternoon.

Morning and evening outings
- Outings when the birds are most active, rest in the middle of the day.

The third lodge
- Move to the last lodge in another part of the wetland.

Night birds
- Evening outing for nightjars and owls.

Chapada dos Guimarães

To Chapada dos Guimarães
- Drive to the plateau with dry forest and cerrado.

Species of the cerrado
- Full day focused on cerrado birds and views over the escarpment.

Flight home
- Morning outing, then transfer to Cuiabá and flight towards Europe.

Booking and payment
- Proposal: You receive a written proposal with price, itinerary and terms. The booking becomes binding only when you have accepted the proposal and we have sent a booking confirmation.
- Payment: Deposit and final payment are stated in the proposal and the confirmation.
- Details: Names must match your passport exactly. Please check the confirmation carefully.
Cancellation and changes
- Cancellation rules and any fees are stated in the proposal and booking confirmation. Flights and some hotels may have their own conditions.
- Changes you request may incur costs from airlines, hotels and other suppliers.
Passports, visas and health
- You are responsible for a valid passport, any visas and the vaccinations required or recommended for the trip, e.g. yellow fever for some areas.
Travel insurance and travel guarantee
We recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover. Details of the travel guarantee lodged with the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet): [to be added].
Changes to the itinerary
If we have to change the itinerary significantly, e.g. because of weather, flight times or decisions by authorities, we will inform you as soon as possible and you have the rights that follow from the Package Travel Act.
Complaints and disputes
Problems during the trip should be reported as soon as possible to us or our local representative. Disputes may be tried by the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or a general court in Sweden. Swedish law applies.
